Burlington, MA — Edgewise Networks, the industry’s first zero trust platform that stops application compromise in the hybrid cloud, today announced the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of Evan Greene as Vice President of Sales. In this position, Greene will set the strategic direction for customer growth and market penetration.
Prior to joining Edgewise, Greene held various leadership positions where he successfully built and managed inside and field sales teams. In his most recent role, he served as Senior Director of Global Public Cloud Sales at Sophos where he led sales and pre-sales engineering, channel and partnership programs, as well as their respective go-to-market strategies. Greene worked closely with senior leaders at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft to deliver cloud security solutions that drove revenue and profitability for Sophos.
“My decision to join Edgewise was based on a need I repeatedly heard from my conversations with end users, channel partners and industry colleagues,” said Greene. “As organizations move large chunks, if not all, of their data centers into a public cloud or multiple public clouds, IT teams must find reliable ways of visualizing and protecting the data and applications they put there. Public cloud providers have and will continue to develop excellent security capabilities for securing their environments, but there is a reason they continue to promote the Shared Responsibility Model, which means end users are responsible for protecting the data that they put in the cloud. There is no other technology in the market today that takes a software-identity approach to cloud security, and I think all companies who are leveraging the public cloud need to implement a solution that affords greater visibility, manageability, and control of their business-critical applications. I’ve seen the impact and limitations of traditional security controls in hybrid cloud environments; I think Edgewise can change the game, and I look forward to working with the team here to drive awareness and adoption."
“We are excited to have Evan as a part of our growing team,” said Peter Smith, CEO and Founder of Edgewise Networks. “The experience and insights he brings to the organization are going to take Edgewise to the next level in terms of market adoption of cloud workload protection and zero trust.”
Edgewise is the industry’s first zero trust platform that stops breaches in the data center and cloud. It protects workloads and prevents attackers’ lateral movements by allowing only verified software to communicate. Using machine learning, Edgewise recommends adaptive policies that eliminate 98% of the network attack surface and protect the rest. Gartner has recognized Edgewise as a 2018 Cool Vendor.
